The 19-year-old son of former Fox News host Eric Bolling was found dead Friday evening hours after his father resigned from his post over allegations that he sent unsolicited photos of his genitalia to three female colleagues.

Eric Bolling announced the untimely death of his only son, Eric Chase Bolling on Twitter Saturday but gave no indication on the cause of death.

“Adrienne and I are devastated by the loss of our beloved son Eric Chase last night. Details still unclear. Thoughts, prayers appreciated” wrote Bolling.

According to his Facebook profile, the younger Bolling was an economics major at the University of Colorado in Boulder.

Bolling posted a second tweet after multiple reports suggested the teen had taken his own life, The Huffington Post reported.

“Authorities have informed us there is no sign of self-harm at this point. An autopsy will be next week. Please respect our grieving period,” Eric Bolling tweeted.

Following the sad news, Fox News issued a statement which read: “We are very saddened to hear of the passing of Eric Bolling’s son. Eric Chase was a wonderful young man and our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Bolling family.”

Fox News had issued an earlier statement around 5 p.m. announcing that the cable news giant had parted ways with the co-host of “The Specialists, over allegations that he sent lewd photos to female coworkers.
