Rapper Nelly released from prison after arrest for second-degree rape in Washington state

Rapper Nelly was released from jail on Saturday while the police investigate an accusation by a woman who says he raped her on his tour bus.

TMZ citing local law enforcement sources said a woman claims she was sexually assaulted raped in the back of the rapper’s tour bus.

Nelly and Florida Georgia Line were scheduled to perform next on tour in Ridgefield, Washington on Saturday night.

The rapper’s attorney, Scott Rosenblum, said Saturday afternoon that the singer was released from jail pending the investigation.

The 42-year-old hip-hop star denied the allegations and claimed he was being targeted in a series of tweets.

“I am confident that once the facts are looked at, it will be very clear that I am the victim of a false allegation,” Nelly wrote.

“In other words, y’all know damm well I ain’t do no dumm s— like this,” ” he wrote in a follow-up tweet,“ he wrote in a follow-up tweet.

According to the gossip website, the alleged rape occurred around 3:45 am Saturday morning.

Auburn police said they received a 911 call from the woman and they arrested Nelly, whose real name is Cornell Iral Haynes Jr., about 4:37 a.m. Saturday.

Sources said the woman specifically identified Nelly as the assailant who committed the alleged rape.

“Our initial investigation, clearly establishes, this allegation is devoid of credibility and is motivated by greed and vindictiveness, I am confident, once this scurrilous accusation is thoroughly investigated, there will be no charges. Nelly is prepared to address and pursue all legal avenues to redress any damage caused by this clearly false allegation,” Rosenblum said in a statement.
