The woman accusing rap star Nelly of raping her on his tour bus in a Seattle suburb last weekend is dropping her pursuit of criminal charges.

Multiple media outlets reported that Karen Koehler, the attorney for the alleged victim said in a statement on Friday that her client wanted to halt the investigation and would refuse to testify in court.

Koehler says the woman “wishes she had not called 911 because she believes the system is going to fail her.”

Nelly, whose real name is Cornell Iral Haynes Jr., was arrested by Auburn police early Saturday on his tour bus at a Walmart.

Police booked Haynes Jr. into custody on suspicion of second-degree rape. He was subsequently released later that morning after posting bond.

He has not officially been charged with a crime.

Nelly’s attorney, Scott Rosenblum, has called the rape has repeatedly lambasted the accusation as a “completely fabricated.”

“The accuser’s “reckless accusation, once investigated thoroughly, was exposed for what it was…a fabrication. A fabrication that has caused Nelly and his family to suffer emotionally and financially.” Rosenbaum told TMZ.

The attorney added: “He’s not satisfied though, and says he wants a public apology from the woman, and will recommend Nelly consider taking legal action against her.”
