California authorities indicated that the U.S. Border Patrol agent remains in custody without bond in Pima County Jail on charges of lewd and lascivious acts.

He’s set to appear on November 2nd before a judge in Tucson for an extradition hearing.

Mrofka worked as a U.S. Border Patrol agent for nine years, according to Tuscon.com.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officials said in a statement that Mrofka has been placed on indefinite suspension without pay pending the outcome of the investigation.

“The U.S. Border Patrol stresses honor and integrity in every aspect of its mission, we do not tolerate misconduct on or off duty and will fully cooperate with all investigations of alleged unlawful conduct by our personnel,” a CBP statement said following the arrest of Kyle Mrofka.
