Authorities in Juárez, Mexico arrested a purported drug cartel suspect wanted in El Paso, Texas during a traffic stop on Friday.

Adrian G., 30, of El Paso was being sought after in the U.S. since 2011 after violating his parole/probation and being charged with drug trafficking.

Mexican authorities did not disclose the last name of the drug cartel suspect because of policies preventing the release names of those arrested for drug-related crimes.

According to the El Paso TImes, the 30-year-old U.S. citizen told police that he was a member of La Linea, aka the Juárez cartel.

The man was traveling in a red Ford Expedition when he was pulled over in north Juárez.

Mexican police officials said during a subsequent search of the vehicle, officers noticed a package of marijuana and arrested the driver.

A Juárez law enforcement database indicated that the driver was sought on warrants by U.S. authorities.

Mexican officials are working to extradite him to the U.S.
