Authorities in Pennsylvania accuse man of selling heroin in maternity ward following daughter’s birth

A Pennsylvania man was taken into custody after he confessed to selling heroin in a hospital the day his daughter was born.

Greensburg authorities were informed of the illicit activity on Thursday after they stopped a vehicle that had heroin and drug paraphernalia inside, Fox 5 DC reported.

Officials said the individuals in the car told police that they had just purchased the drugs from Cody Hulse, the infant’s 25-year-old father, who was at Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital.

Authorities located Hulse in the baby’s room at the hospital, and he confessed to selling the drugs. He had 34 bags of dope and other paraphernalia in his pocket at the time.

The baby’s mother told police that she was unaware that her boyfriend was selling drugs.

On Friday, he was arraigned in court and charged with heroin delivery and endangering child welfare.
