Two Illinois men busted with over 40 pounds of cocaine, held on $5 million bond

Two men were taken into custody were made in a multi-jurisdictional probe in Belvidere, Illinois on felony drug charges after they were busted over 40 pounds of cocaine.

The Rockford DEA Task Force, Belvidere/Boone County Metro Narcotics Unit, Rockford Police, Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department, Crystal Lake Police and Wheaton Police investigators collaborated in the investigation.

On October 13th, authorities seized more than 4 pounds of cocaine and a vehicle.

According to WFIR, officers arrested 42-year old Roy Vasquez and 50-year old Efren Rodriguez-Diaz. They also confiscated an additional 42 pounds of cocaine, 10 pounds of heroin, one-pound of crack, and $206,000 in cash.

Vasquez and Rodriguez-Diaz have been charged with illegal delivery of a controlled substance and are being held on a $5,000,000 bond.

The investigation is still pending.
