Devin Patrick Kelley, the gunman who opened fire, killing 26 victims at a church in Texas on Sunday is described as a creepy, crazy, and weird outcast who preached atheism on the internet in a new report.

Former classmates of Kelley, said he was an isolated atheist who believed Christians were stupid, according to theDaily Mail.

“He was talking about how people who believe in God were stupid and tried to preach atheism,” former classmate at New Braunfels High School Nina Rose Nava said in a Facebook post.

She added that she was in “complete shock” after discovering that Kelley was the shooter. “I just deleted him cause I couldn’t stand his posts.”

Devin Patrick Kelley (pictured) walked into the First Baptist Church of Sutherland Springs, dressed in full combat gear, and began shooting, according to local law enforcement sources

Christopher Leo Longoria replied to the post, saying, “I removed him for those same reasons! He was super negative all the time.”

Another classmate, Patrick Boyce, told the Daily Mail: “He was the first atheist I met. He went to the Air Force and got discharged, but I don’t know why.”

He also noted that Kelley appeared to be depressed lately. “He had a kid or two, fairly normal,” he continued. “I was shocked. Still haven’t quite processed how he could have done that.”

Responding to Nava’s post, Michael Goff said, “He was weird but never that weird, always posting his atheist sh** like Nina wrote, but he always posted pics of him and his baby — crazy.”

Nava referred to her former classmate as an outcast but that he was not a loner. “He was popular among other outcasts. I haven’t spoken to him since high school,” she added.

Another outcast, whose name the Daily Mail kept anonymous, said: “It’s crazy I grew up with him,” she continued. “Same town. Same school. Same classes. He was different and creeped me out but never would I have thought he would do such a horrific thing.”

Cord Eubank Brown, another classmate, went on social media and said, “People I knew who stayed away from this guy for many reasons, which all make sense.”

After being responsible for one of the worst church shootings in recent history, Devin Patrick Kelley was shot by a citizen of Sutherland Springs and escaped the scene. Multiple residents pursued Kelley as he drove off from the church until he crashed. Police recovered multiple firearms and possible explosives inside of his vehicle.
