Authorities in Memphis, Tennessee arrested Donald Crump, the owner of Crumpy’s Hot Wings, after he reportedly strangled a customer last week when she complained that her french fries were cold.

According to WREG, Rinesha Moore said that she ordered her food on the phone and was informed that it would be ready in 25 to 35 minutes. However, Moore said the restaurant doesn’t usually prepare its food on time, so she arrived at Crumpy’s Hot Wings roughly 45 minutes later to give them “a little extra time.”

“I saw my food was kinda … it’s usually smoking but it wasn’t this time, it was dry so I said, ‘Can I get some fresh fries?’,” Moore said, who told WREG that Crump said they were cold because she took too long. “He was just like nah, being nonchalant, like he didn’t care, bad customer service.”

That’s when Crump reportedly began strangling Moore. But Crump, who said he grabbed Moore, said that the customer was “belligerent,” and witnesses said that Moore threw her fries in anger after Crump declined to refund her money.

“He deserves punishment for doing this to a woman,” Moore added. “He pushed me with his hands and pushed me then I laid back, and he came like this with his two hands.”

“He said, ‘Don’t disrespect my store,’ as he was choking me,” she told WREG.

Memphis police took Crump into custody, and he was charged with aggravated assault.

Crump later did an interview with WMC5 to “set the record straight,” and gave the TV station with footage of the encounter.

“I never choked her,” he stated.

According to Google reviews of Crumpy’s Hot Wings, Moore isn’t the first customer to experience a wait or cold food at the restaurant, although many approved of the food.

“I order by phone, they say 15 minutes, I arrived 20 minutes later and waited 40 minutes, and they said where have you been,” Michael Ramsey said in a one-star review. “I’ve been here 40 minutes, and I get my order and its cold I will never visit this franchise again….. [sic]”
