Authorities announced that they believe they have recovered the weapon used to murder former NBA player Lorenzen Wright, whose remains were discovered in a swampy field in Tennessee seven years ago.

On Thursday, Memphis Police spokesperson Karen Rudolph said that the gun was located in a lake in Walnut, Mississippi, about 75 miles east of Memphis, the New York Times reports.

Rudolph did not reveal how the gun was recovered or if it has undergone ballistics testing. No further details were revealed.

Wright’s decomposing body was discovered in Memphis in July 2010 — 10 days after the 34-year-old was reported missing.

The murder remains unsolved and no suspects have been arrested in the case.

Lorenzen Wright played for the Memphis Grizzlies and four other NBA teams as a forward and center over the course of his 13-year career before he retired in 2009.
