Arrest made in execution-style murder at New Jersey Applebee’s restaurant

New Jersey authorities have arrested a suspect believed to be responsible for the execution-style murder of a man at an Applebee’s in Lawrence last week.

Noel Powell III, 27, has been charged with murder after he was arrested on Sunday by the Mercer Homicide Task Force and the U.S. Marshals NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force.

Powell reportedly shot 23-year-old Devin Smith in the back of the head just before 12:30 a.m. Tuesday while he sat at the bar of the restaurant, NJ.com.

In addition to the execution-style murder, Powell has been charged with possessing a weapon for an unlawful purpose, along with unlawful possession of a weapon.
