Six juveniles shot, one dead in Cleveland.

Authorities in Ohio are seeking the public’s help in locating an unknown number of suspects after six children were shot, one fatally on Friday night in Cleveland.

According to Fox8 Cleveland, the victims, all boys ranging in age from 12 to 16 years-old, apparently ran into an unknown number of suspects dressed in black hooded sweatshirts when shots were fired around 7:30 p.m. on East 116th Street and Buckeye Road, on Cleveland’s east side.

The suspects, who police believe are also juveniles, remained at-large as of Friday night.

However, Police Chief Calvin Williams said that so far, no evidence gathered at the scene suggests the gun violence was gang-related.

“Kids crossed paths and shots were fired. but we don’t know exactly what spurred this or what happened.”

Williams sent his condolences to the family of the dead child, whose identity hasn’t been released to the public.

“Our hearts go out to the families of the victims here,” Williams said.

The remaining five children remain hospitalized and their conditions remain unknown at this time.

Williams says police are investigating and are appealing for the public’s help in finding out those responsible for the shooting.

“There’s always a heavy police presence from the Fourth District in this area. And of course, when these things happen, there is a concerted effort by all divisional resources to make sure we find out the people who did this and we get them off the streets,” Williams said.
