Mexican police helicopter crashes in Tijuana killing two

A police helicopter crashed in the border city of Tijuana, Mexico killing at least two law enforcement officers.

Baja California’s prosecutor’s office identified the victims as a police captain and the pilot of the helicopter.

It’s not yet apparent what caused the accident.

The chopper was helping with a search for criminal suspects when the accident transpired on Wednesday, The L.A. Times reported.

That same day, state authorities said three houses plunged 45 feet into a collapsed building excavation site in the city of Monterrey. One person reportedly died in the incident.

The government of the state of Nuevo Leon said rescue workers were are still looking for other possible victims.
