Police charge three Pennsylvania high school football players as adults in the rape of 14-year-old girl

Pennsylvania authorities have formally charged three high school football players, accused of raping a 14-year-old girl at gunpoint as adults.

West York Police charged the three 16-year-old three suspects, identified as Andrew R. Miller, Daishon M. Richardson, and Kelvin J. Mercedes, with several counts of rape including – involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, forcible compulsion, unlawful restraint, and making terroristic threats, according to the York Daily Record.

The paper reported the three Central York High School football players, from Manchester Township, were arrested on Wednesday and later released after posting $25,000 bail.

An affidavit of probable cause indicates the alleged offense occurred on Sept. 16, outside the York Fair.

In an interview with the York Daily, West York Police Detective Michael Mendez Sr. said the victim knew the suspects and identified two of them by their first and last names.

A judge has scheduled a preliminary hearing for Jan. 11th.
