Police say teen runaway erased cell phone before disappearing with school soccer coach

Florida authorities say the cell phone of a teen runaway who allegedly went missing with her school soccer coach was completely erased before she disappeared over the weekend.

The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office said 17-year-old Caitlyn Frisina, left behind her phone completely wiped clean before she ran away from home Saturday night.

Authorities believe the teen could be traveling with 27-year-old Rian Rodriguez, the head coach of the Fort White High School boys soccer team.

Deputies say the pair are traveling in a Mercury Sable with Florida license plates, WJXT reported.

Investigators said Frisina, who plays for the girl’s soccer team soccer is “believed to have left her home of her own accord.”

Police tracked Frisina’s last known location at an ATM in St. Marys, Georgia on Sunday, where she withdrew $200, according to WSB-TV.

Rodriguez was suspended pending the investigation, Columbia County School District officials announced on Monday.

“The Columbia County School District is cooperating fully with the Columbia County Sheriff’s office with regard to an investigation against one of our current supplemented employees. The employee has been suspended pending this investigation and is no longer serving in the supplemented capacity as Head Boys’ Soccer Coach at Fort White High School,” the statement read.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about Frisina’s whereabouts to call 386-719-2005.
