Authorities in Oklahoma City are asking for the public’s assistance on Twitter to help catch a “meat bandit” who reportedly stole hundreds of dollars worth of beef jerky from a convenience store.

The Oklahoma City Police Department told NBC News that a bearded white male who has shoulder-length brown hair and glasses “stole” $400 in beef jerky from a store.

Naturally, the tweet’s funny tone inspired some people online who are roasting the report with puns.

“You read that correctly … beef jerky,” the OKCPD said on it’s Facebook page Thursday. “Investigators hope that with surveillance photos this good, it won’t take long to identify this meat bandit.”

Oklahoma City Police request that anyone with information on the “Meat Bandit” contact 405-235-7300.
