The FBI escorting Kentucky fugitive attorney back from Honduras

Authorities in Honduras revealed a Kentucky attorney, who is a fugitive and disappeared six months ago after he pleaded guilty to extensive Social Security fraud, is being escorted back to the U.S. by FBI agents

Eric Conn was handed over to the FBI on Tuesday, one day after his busted by a SWAT team as he left a restaurant in the city of La Ceiba.

Honduras’ Technical Agency of Criminal Investigation spokesman, Jorge Galindo, said the man was brought out Honduras on a private jet.

Conn’s apprehension was praised by his former clients and their families, who have grappled to make ends meet while trying to keep their Social Security disability checks.

“That’s wonderful,” Donna Dye, whose husband was among Conn’s clients in Appalachia, said. “I never thought they would catch him. He let people like my husband have trust, and he let that down.”

U.S. federal agents spent months hunting Conn down, who cut off his electronic monitor and left the U.S. in June.
