Steven Wright, starting pitcher for the Boston Red Sox, was taken into custody this weekend for domestic assault after he got into a dispute with his spouse.

According to Fox17 Nashville, the starting righty was busted on Friday at his residence in Tennessee after an incident involving his wife took place, leading to his arrest. He was booked for domestic assault.

His attorney released a statement from the Wright family stating … “On Friday, Steven was arrested at our home following a verbal argument, and police charged him with domestic assault.”

The statement added “Although he said things he regrets, he did not raise his hand during the incident, and the situation was emotional. We are working together as a family … and we ask that you respect our privacy as we do so.”

The Red Sox also issued a statement following the arrest of Steven Wright saying they were informed of the situation, and that MLB and police were looking into the matter.
