Authorities in Indiana arrested a pregnant mother after she was discovered unconscious after injecting heroin behind the wheel at a stoplight with her child in the backseat.

Natalie Onay, 22, is facing charges of child neglect, narcotic possession, possession of paraphernalia, syringe possession, and driving a vehicle while intoxicated.

Officers were dispatched after receiving a report of a woman passed out behind the wheel at around 11 p.m. on Monday, WTRV reported.

The driver in the vehicle behind Onay said the light turned green at least two times, and Onay did not move. When the driver honked, Onay’s vehicle rolled, stopped, and was almost hit by another car.

Police said they had to pull Onay out of the car. DCS arrived on the scene and took custody of her 10-month-old in the back.

They discovered a syringe and .10 grams of heroin in her vehicle.

Officers said Onay confessed to injecting heroin about 10 minutes before she went unconscious. She also told investigators that she’s five months pregnant.
