Illinois State authorities, in conjunction with the Monmouth Police Department, Warren County Sheriff’s Office, and West Central Illinois Task Force were dispatched after receiving reports of suspicious activity at the Monmouth Municipal Airport earlier this week uncovered 200 pounds of pot in a small plane.

Officers said they discovered Sean B. Billingsley, of Oregon, offloading cargo from a small aircraft.

Police seized roughly 200 pounds of marijuana, $2,830, and a firearm from the aircraft.

Billingsley was arrested and charged with one count of unlawful possession of cannabis (more than 5,000 grams), WQAD reported.

His bond has been set at $250,000.

The investigation is still ongoing.
