A postal worker facing discipline in Ohio reportedly stripped naked and then fatally shot his supervisor and a short time after killed the postmaster at a post office in Dublin, Ohio.

According to the Dispatch, the suspect, Deshaune Stewart, allegedly reacted violently to news from his supervisor that he was being fired.

Authorities arrested Stewart, a postal worker after he killed his supervisor and postmaster of the local post office. The assault on the two postal employees occurred after the supervisor told Stewart that he was being fired for alleged misconduct.

After he learned of his termination, Stewart took off his clothes, pulled a gun, and then shot and killed his supervisor, Lance Herrera-Dempsey.

“There had been some investigation into his misconduct, and it had culminated into him being terminated. This was apparently his response, very violent,” Columbus Police Department Sergeant Dave Sicilian said.

A witness told investigators that Stewart was seen shooting the supervisor one time while he was standing. After Herrera-Dempsey fell to the ground, the crazed man allegedly shot him again. He then bolted out of the building.

Apparently, Stewart then ran into Postmaster Ginger Ballard, according to KXXV. Ballard died after she was thrown to the ground where she hit her head. She was killed instantly by her injury.

Officers later received a call from an apartment complex of a “male who was causing alarm to a resident.”

Police arrived and discovered Stewart.

The Dublin Post Office briefly suspended mail delivery, retail, and mail collection operations.

“We would like to apologize for any inconvenience and thank the community for their understanding and support,” Dublin Post Office officials said in a statement. “Our thoughts remain with the victims of this senseless act of violence and their families.”

Stewart has been charged with two counts of aggravated murder.
