Authorities in Georgia announced the arrest of three “wannabe gangsters” accused firing an AK-47 assault rifle at a police officer.

The Clayton County Sheriff’s Office revealed that a Lovejoy officer tried to stop a vehicle earlier this month for a traffic infraction. The car didn’t immediately pull over after the officer turned on his lights and sirens.

The suspects eventually stopped. However, when the officer approached, the car quickly drove away.

As the vehicle sped away, one of the suspects fired shots at the officer with an AK-47.

The suspects’ getaway car and weapon were found abandoned a short time later by Clayton County Sheriff’s deputies, according to Fox5 Atlanta

Police located and arrested one of the suspects in the vehicle identified as Cecil Hoyer.

His girlfriend, Tisa Williams, was also taken into custody after authorities said she helped Hoyer evade capture.

A third individual, Janorris Lucas, was later identified. He was arrested on December 21st. Police said he tried to flee from a house but was caught.

Several “high-powered” firearms were discovered inside the house. One of those had been stolen out of Cobb County.

Clayton County officials described the suspects as “wannabe gangsters.”

Hoyer faces multiple charges including aggravated assault, obstructing an officer, fleeing from an officer, possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of marijuana.

Police booked Lucas on aggravated assault charges.

Both men remain in custody without bond.

Williams was charged with possession of one ounce or less of marijuana and obstructing an officer. She was released from custody after posting bond on Dec. 9th.
