A former HIV positive track coach in Maryland has pleaded guilty to sexually abusing students and videotaping child porn.

Carlos Deangelo Bell, 30, entered a guilty plea on 27 counts, which include charges of sexually abusing a minor, porn, and attempted HIV transmission, WJLA reported.

The crimes took place over a period of roughly two years beginning in May 2015.

There were 42 victims between 11 and 17 years old.

Bell was as a teacher’s aide at Benjamin Stoddert Middle School in Waldorf.

He was also a track coach for La Plata High School and worked at JP Ryon Elementary in Waldorf and McDonough High School in Pomfret.

Investigators said Bell confessed to making videos with at least seven students both on school property, at his residence, and at other locations

His sentencing is scheduled for March with prosecutors aiming to put him behind bars for life with a sentence of up to 190 years in jail.

Detectives aren’t aware of any victims who have contracted HIV.

“If you don’t think I’ve asked myself thousands of times, you’re wrong,” Charles County Superintendent Kim Hill told the press at the time of Bell’s arrest.

“It is devastating that something like this could take place in a classroom – in a school building where adults are charged with taking care of children.”

Last year, authorities received a tip from a parent claiming that Bell was participating in suspicious behavior with one of his track athletes.

After he was arrested, Bell notified law enforcement officials that he was HIV positive.
