Border Patrol agents in California busted a 14-year-old girl attempting to smuggle packages of methamphetamine strapped to her torso last weekend.

According to a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) press release, agents at the El Centro Sector assigned to the Highway 111 checkpoint arrested the 14-year-old drug smuggler around 12:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.

Officials said agents noticed a silver Toyota Camry with the girl sitting in the passenger seat traveling with three other male occupants approaching the Border Patrol checkpoint around 12:30 p.m.

CBP agents referred the vehicle to a secondary inspection to check the immigration status of the four occupants.

As the girl was questioned, Border Patrol agents noticed her chest highly elevated and oddly shaped. Consequently, officers discovered the teen concealing packages strapped around her upper torso.

The contents of the packages later tested positive for methamphetamine, according to the press release.

The drugs weighed 6.44 pounds and had an estimated street value of $22,540.

CBP officers seized the meth and arrested the girl, who was identified as a United States citizen along with her three companions.

The four suspects were subsequently turned over to agents with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration for further investigation and possible prosecution on drug trafficking charges..
