Police in Alabama charged San Francisco 49ers stud rookie linebacker Reuben Foster with second-degree possession of marijuana following an arrest on Friday.

Details of the arrest haven’t been released.

Information discovered on the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office database confirms Foster’s arrest on Friday, according to AL.com

Records indicate bond for Foster was set at $2,500.

The 49ers released a written statement on Friday night, which read: “The San Francisco 49ers organization is aware of the matter involving Reuben Foster and we are currently gathering all relevant facts.”

Foster, who was a former first-team All-American for the Alabama Crimson Tide in 2016 and Butkus Award winner was the 49ers first-round pick in last year’s NFL draft.

Foster started 10 games and recorded an impressive 72 tackles.

The linebacker’s stellar performances earned him the NFL’s Defensive Rookie of the Month in November.

Additionally, Foster’s play on defense coupled with the arrival of quarterback Jimmy Garrappolo via trade from New England helped the 49ers win the final five games of the 2017 season.
