Authorities in Florida say a pair of hired killers involved in a murder plot realized they had zip-tied and duct taped the wrong woman but nevertheless killed her anyway.

Investigators say Alexis Ramos and Glorianmarie Quinones Montes forced 42-year-old Janice Marie Zengotita-Torres, of Kissimmee, into the trunk of her own car as she left her job at a shopping center last week in Osceola County.

The pair reportedly tortured the mother of a 14-year-old for her ATM card, before fatally suffocating her with garbage bags.

According to ABC News, the suspects dumped the body of Zengotita-Torres in Ormond Beach, located six miles north of Daytona.

Osceola County Sheriff Russ Gibson said the accused boyfriend-girlfriend hit team realized they had abducted the wrong woman, and still “continued with their murder plot.”

Police arrested Ishnar Lopez-Ramos on Friday after surveillance cameras captured her trying to use the Zengotita-Torres’s ATM card and wearing her clothing.

Lopez-Ramos confessed to ordering the murder, which she said was intended for a romantic rival.

Ishnar Marie Lopez-Ramos was charged with murder in Osceola County Jail, Florida, Jan. 12, 2018.

Additionally, the suspect implicated Ramos and Montes, who were both arrested in the murder plot.

According to the sheriff’s office, both have also provided investigators with full confessions,

“It was just a mistaken identity,” Gibson said.

“I don’t say that lightly, that this woman lost her life for no reason. This mother, this wife, this daughter — for no reason, at all.”
