Tampa attorney who is also a former cop and two other men charged with cocaine trafficking

Authorities have charged a Tampa attorney who was also a former police officer and two others on drug trafficking charges in connection with a cocaine smuggling operation based in Polk County, Florida

Investigators with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office and members of the High-Intensity Drug Trafficking (HIDTA) task force arrested Robert Carr, 66, along with Brandon Byars, 37, and Logan Sebring, 24.

According to WTSP, the attorney was also a member of the Tampa police force for five years and is currently a partner with the Resolute Law Group.

Carr was also Sebring’s attorney in a previous criminal case.

Tampa lawyer Robert Carr faces cocaine trafficking charges in Polk County.

An investigation was launched when HIDTA investigators learned of possible drug trafficking by Byars.

Through the probe, the task force members alleged that Carr and Byars were accomplices.

Carr has been charged with cocaine trafficking, conspiring to traffic cocaine, and possession of a vehicle used to traffic cocaine.

Byars is facing charges of cocaine trafficking, conspiring to traffic cocaine, and possession of Hydrocodone and drug paraphernalia.

Sebring has been charged with cocaine trafficking, conspiring to traffic cocaine, and possession of cannabis and drug paraphernalia.
