Five people killed in mass shooting at Pennsylvania car wash

Pennsylvania authorities have reported multiple fatalities during a mass shooting event overnight at a car wash in Fayette County.

Officials said the gunfire erupted around 3 a.m. Sunday morning at the car wash in the town of Melcroft, located 53 miles southeast of Pittsburgh.

State Police confirmed five people dead including three men and two women, WPXI reported.

A spokesman for the Pennsylvania State Police Trooper B station said at least one other person was rushed to a local area hospital with apperant gunshot wounds but refused to provide further details.

Although it remains unclear if the unidentified gunman is still at-large, sources told the WPXI that the suspected shooter may be one of the fatalities.

The area surrounding the carwash remained shut down Sunday morning while police continued to investigate the shooting.
