A fowl find greeted cops during a drug bust in Long Island on Friday, where police discovered all the trappings of a cockfighting ring. Officers found 65 roosters, several hens, and a pheasant locked up in a backyard of a residence in Brentwood.

Members of the Suffolk County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals also discovered evidence pointing to a battle ring, which included training gloves, spikes and razor blades that were fastened to talons during the fights, according to the New York Daily News.

Earlier that morning, just before 10 a.m., police took 40-year-old Reynaldo Bonilla into custody after Suffolk County investigators recovered cocaine, marijuana, scales and packaging materials at his home in Bayshore.

Bonilla also had a malnourished, injured pit bull.

The Suffolk County SPCA rescued all the animals.

Bonilla was charged with multiple drug possession and animal cruelty offenses.
