Atlanta Police arrested an UberEATS food delivery driver for the fatal shooting of a customer.

KIRO reports that 36-year-old Robert Bivines surrendered to authorities n Monday.

Officials said Atlanta Police had issued an arrest warrant charging Bivines with felony murder in connection with the shooting death of 30-year-old Ryan Thornton.

Police said Thornton met the UberEATS driver for his food delivery late Saturday outside his Buckhead apartment complex.

Witnesses told investigators before the shooting Thornton became irate over his order and exchanged words with Bivines.

Jackie Patterson, the attorney representing Bivines, told WSB-TV his client “had no choice but to defend himself” when the Thorton became aggressive over his order.

UberEATS said in a statement that Bivines had passed a background check and was just hired by the company only days before the shooting.
