The ex-manager of rapper Cardi B has filed a lawsuit against her on Thursday requesting $10 million.

The former rep, who goes by the nickname Shaft, claimed that he discovered Cardi B and turned her into the pop culture phenomenon that she has become, according to TMZ.

Now, he says he’s been sidelined and pushed out of her remarkable success.

Sources close to the situation revealed that Cardi B asked for Shaft’s help and that he took care of her career, “as if she were his daughter.” They said that he organized the production of her mega-hit “Bodak Yellow.”

They were working together since 2015.

A spokesperson for Shaft told Page:, “Since discovering Cardi B in 2015, Shaft has played an integral role in developing her career and image. While he is proud of their collaborations as she evolved from Instagram influencer to music megastar, Shaft is disappointed by her actions to freeze him out, which are detailed in the complaint. Shaft is confident that his lawsuit will validate his conduct and substantiate his claims.”
