Last month, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents working at the UPS Express Consignment Shipment House in Louisville, Kentucky seized cargo which was found to contain over 520 kilos of cocaine.

The shipment arrived from Sao Paulo, Brazil and was destined for Point Noire, in the Republic of Congo, according to a CBP press release.

A Customs official targeted the shipment based on his prior knowledge of smuggling methods.

Upon examination of the shipment, Customs agents 60 boxes with 24 tubs of silicone adhesive were found.

A CBP agent drilled into the silicone tubes and noticed a white powder, which tested positive for cocaine.

The weight of drugs in the silicone tubes was equivalent to 1,147 lbs and is believed to be worth over $17 million.
