Police in New York City are investigating the murder of a woman who was discovered shot execution-style inside her Brooklyn apartment Friday night.

The New York Post citing NYPD sources reported that the woman identified as 62-year-old Ana Devalle was found just before 7 p.m. at the Bushwick Houses in East Williamsburg

The victim’s hands had been bound and she was shot multiple times at close range in the back of the head.

Investigators have recovered three shell casings at the scene, ABC7 reported.

Frightened neighborhood residents were shocked to hear of the murder.

“That poor woman, this is awful,” Cindy Lesha, 24, who lives just blocks from the murder scene told the Post. “How can someone sleep at night knowing that there’s a maniac like that on the loose? I might stay at my mom’s tonight.”

The NYPD are actively searching for the killer.

In an earlier incident, a 51-year-old woman suffered a gunshot wound to the hand. Sources said the woman was shot by a gunman as soon as she answered the door at her apartment in Vinegar Hill, Brooklyn.

The woman was treated at a local hospital Friday night.

Sources said no arrests have been made in the second shooting, but cops were searching for the armed suspect.

Police offficials don’t believe the two incidents are related.
