Brawl erupts after guilty verdicts are rendered in Florida murder case

Footage shows a courtroom in Florida erupting in violence after guilty verdicts were rendered for four young men on trial for murder.

The wild incident on Friday in Ocala involved three defendants and court officers who were forced to deploy their stun guns to restore order.

Defense lawyer Daniel Hernandez was seen being attacked by his client, Troy Davis.

“I got five punches to the back and the side of my head, forehead. I got a few bumps and bruises, some scratches,” Hernandez said to Fox 35 Orlando.

The lawyer said he had been trying cases for 40 years without ever being hit by a client. He said he never anticipated that Davis would attack him.

“We’d had disagreements on some things, but nothing physical had ever happened, and I was not expecting to get punched,” he continued.

A young boy told the jury Davis fatally shot his 28-year-old father, Courtney London, in 2016. The boy was 5-years-old at the time.

Davis apologized to Hernandez when he spoke to the judge before he was sentenced to life behind bars. His co-defendants were also hit with life sentences.
