Former Los Angeles Clippers star Rasual Butler had a cocktail of drugs and alcohol in his system when he and his wife were killed in a high-speed car accident in California.

An autopsy from the Los Angeles County’ coroner’s office indicated that the 38-year-old NBA player had marijuana, alcohol, painkillers, and meth in his system when he was killed in the accident that occurred back in January.

Toxicology results also showed that his blood-alcohol level was .118, KTLA reported.

An empty box of Don Julio tequila was discovered behind the passenger seat of his Range Rover.

Butler was driving on Ventura Boulevard at approximately 2:30 am when his SUV jumped a curb and hit multiple parking meters before it slammed into a concrete wall and flipped over in a parking lot.

He and wife, singer Leah LaBelle, were dead when authorities arrived.

The car he was driving reportedly went “well in excess” of the speed limit. Investigators with the LAPD determined that the SUV had been going between 60 and 90mph.

The Clippers published a statement regarding the couple’s unexpected death.

“The L.A. Clippers are deeply saddened by the loss of Rasual Butler and his wife, Leah LaBelle,” the statement read. “Rasual will be remembered not only for his accomplishments but for his vibrant personality, positive outlook and compassion he had for everyone around him.”

Butler last played in the NBA in 2016. He signed for numerous teams throughout his 14-year stint, including the Miami Heat, Indiana Pacers, Washington Wizards, and San Antonio Spurs.
