Six cartel hitmen with the armed wing of the Juárez Cartel, called “La Línea,” were apprehended in Juárez during two separate police busts in the El Paso-Juárez Border Area.

Local press outlets reported that first three assassins, identified as Hiram Antonio M. M., José Manuel V. G., and Vianey Monserrat B. P. were suspected of slaying of a 24-year-old male.

Witnesses watched the suspects escape in a Ford Mustang which was later found by Juárez municipal police in colonia Revolución Mexicana. The suspects were arrested after a pursuit.

After capturing the three suspects, Juárez authorities found a 9mm handgun with nine rounds and a small quantity of cocaine, the Secretary of Public Security for the City of Juárez indicated.

Authorities captured the six cartel assassins last week in the El Paso-Juárez Metropolitan Border Area.

He also said that investigators recovered seven 9mm shell casings at the murder scene and the three men confessed to being part of La Línea and were killing their rivals from “Los Aztecas.”

The head of the detainees, 27-year-old Hiram Antonio, has a criminal history of illegal firearm possession and robbery.

Juárez police also arrested the other three cartel hitmen on May 29th as a result of intensive patrols conducted in response to the increase in cartel violence.

A police patrol noticed a Ford Ranger driving dangerously in colonia Fronteriza and upon initiating a traffic stop, saw an occupant throw an object out the window.

A search revealed a .45 caliber handgun and 13 rounds which led to the arrest of the three occupants.

The trio confessed that they were members of La Línea and were identified as Adrián Ángel P.S., 27; Jorge Luis P.B., 22; and Martin Feliciano L.L., 27. They alleged that they were carrying the gun for protection.
