Todd Macaluso, the former attorney for Casey Anthony – was sentenced to 15 years behind bars after he was charged with conspiring to smuggle over 3,000 pounds of cocaine on his private jet from Ecuador to Honduras.

Macaluso, 55, agreed to bring $10 million worth of cocaine on his Falcon 10 plan for a drug cartel in exchange for $200,000.

The drugs would have been distributed to Mexican drug traffickers to ultimately bring to the United States, according to the New York Post.

However, the disbarred attorney who represented Casey Anthony was arrested in 2016 before the plane took off.

The was found guilty by a jury last November of international cocaine distribution conspiracy.

“Today’s sentence puts traffickers, and their associates on notice that we will bring the full weight of the law to those that play any role in bringing drugs into our communities,” Brooklyn US Attorney Richard Donoghue announced in a statement.
