Florida Authorities arrested a man after complaining to deputies to test the quality of methamphetamine out of suspicions he may have been sold the wrong drug.

According to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, 49-year-old Douglas Peter Kelly was charged Tuesday with possession of methamphetamine.

Officials said Kelly called the sheriff’s office on Tuesday and explained that he had purchased meth about a week earlier. He said he had a bad reaction after smoking the drug and asked if deputies could test the narcotic’s quality.

At the invitation of investigators, the genius drove to the sheriff’s office and gave them over an aluminum foil package containing a clear, crystal-like substance.

Cops said Kelly was arrested after the substance field-tested positive for methamphetamine.

Kelly remained on $5,000 bail.
