Chicago Police K-9 helps sniff out $10 million worth of marijuana during a traffic stop

A police dog in Chicago helped sniff out a drug smuggler transporting more than 1,500 pounds of marijuana and other THC products inside his pickup truck during a traffic stop last weekend.

The Chicago Police Department said officers stopped a man suspected of drug trafficking, who had just arrived in Chicago from California on Saturday.

According to the CPD’s Bureau of Organized Crime, Jayda, the K-9 police dog alerted her handlers to the presence of drugs.

A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered more than 1,500 pounds of marijuana products worth over $10 million on the street, CBS Local reported.

Cops also recovered other cannabis-related products and paraphernalia from the vehicle.

Police posted the picture of Jayda and her massive haul on Facebook, which has been shared over 5,000 times.

Chicago Police and U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration agents in California are investigating the case.
