A West Virginia teen was charged with drug trafficking after police busted him with 170 grams of marijuana, $1,930 in cash and a loaded firearm during a traffic stop on Saturday.

Huntington Police officials say 18-year-old Zaylex Layne Berry,  was driving 15 mph over the speed limit in slick conditions when he was pulled over by officers.

According to t the Herald-Dispatch, Police ran Berry’s license and learned that it was a learner’s permit, but a licensed driver was not in the vehicle.

Officers detected the odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle, leading to a search of Berry’s car. Police discovered a Louis Vuitton backpack with the marijuana, digital scales and sandwich baggies.

Cops also discovered the cash in Berry’s pocket and a 9 mm handgun under the seat with one bullet in the chamber.

Berry was worried that the gun might have been stolen because someone else gave it to him. He also confessed that the marijuana was his.

Four passengers were in the vehicle, but officers released them after a search because they had “nothing of note” in their possession.

Berry has been charged with drug trafficking-related charges including intent to deliver a controlled substance, along with carrying a deadly weapon without license or authorization and driving without a valid license. He was booked into the Western Regional Jail in Barboursville, and his bond was set at $100,000.
