Cops: Teenage girl, 16, was held captive, raped and had her head shaved in ‘torture chamber.’

A 16-year-old New Jersey girl who went missing and was discovered in the basement of a residence in Massachusetts told authorities she was held against her will, raped several times, had her hair shaved off and was burned with a cigarette.

Auburn police Officer George Vranos said the teen, who ran away from her home, was discovered on December 27th inside a room that he described as a “torture chamber,” WCVB5 reported.

He added that she was sobbing when they found her and when officers asked her to remove a hat she was wearing. After noticing a bag full of hair near her, they realized that her head had been shaved.

“She was looking at the floor whimpering,” Vranos testified during a dangerousness hearing at Worcester Central District Court.

Police have charged Krystal Lugo, 23, and her brother Christopher Lugo, 19,  with kidnapping and other offenses in connection with the attack

Around the teen, authorities also found cigarettes, duct tape with hair, an iron and a bucket of water.

Krystal Lugo, 23, has been charged with kidnapping, assault, and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery, and theft under $250. Christopher Lugo, 19, has also been charged with kidnapping, rape, and drugging to confine; and 22-year-old Torres-Abee, 22, has been charged with kidnapping and assault and battery. The final suspect, 19-year-old Yuleny Ortiz has been charged with kidnapping.

Prosecutors said that the teen was picked up in nearby Leominster on Christmas Day and was brought to Auburn by Krystal Lugo and Ortiz, where she stayed for two days.

The teen told officers that she was given a marijuana cigarette laced with Xanax and was sexually assaulted several times by different individuals. Investigators recovered several used condoms in various areas of the residence.

However, it seems that a purported home invasion on December 27th is what caused the four to hold the teen in the “torture chamber.”

Two armed men rushed into the Auburn home around 6 a.m. that morning, demanding weed, and pistol-whipped Christopher Lugo before they fired two shots into the ceiling.

Krystal Lugo, the mother of an 18-month-old, accused the victim of working with the two men. She took the victim outside without shoes on to fight with her; it only stopped after Christopher Lugo noticed that neighbors were watching.

She “turned on the victim, blaming her for setting them up and orchestrating the home invasion,” District Attorney Tara Nechev said.

She was then taken to the basement, where the victim was bound to a chair with duct tape. The assailants placed a machete at her throat while she was questioned about the people involved in the invasion.

Krystal Lugo, who waved her head in denial as prosecutors discussed the allegations during Wednesday’s hearing, has a long history of run-ins with law enforcement. Police have been dispatched to the Auburn home 144 times since 2003.

She remains in custody without bail, despite her lawyer arguing she was not a danger. She’s scheduled to return to court on January 31st.
