A boys high school basketball coach in Idaho was arrested for sexual battery on Friday after authorities discovered evidence that she engaged in an illicit sexual relationship with an underage male student.

Gooding Police Chief Dave Fisher confirmed reports that 26-year-old Ann Kuroki, who reportedly coached the boys’ junior varsity team at Gooding High School, is facing felony charges of sexual battery.

Authorities reportedly received a tip earlier this week of a possible relationship between Kuroki and a 16-year-old male student, KMVT reported.

According to a school board’s agenda item,  school officials intend to terminate Kuroki when the board meets on Monday, which is the same time she will appear in court for her arraignment.

The school board’s agenda identified Kuroki as the coach of boys’ Junior Varsity basketball team.

School records indicate Kuroki was hired to coach the boys JV team in October 2017.

In addition to the criminal investigation, Fisher said school officials will also conduct an internal probe into the sexual misconduct allegations.

According to the woman’s Linkedin page, Kuroki graduated from Southern Virginia University in 2015, where she played and captained the women’s basketball team.

She is currently classified by the school district as an “at will” employee.

Gooding is a community of 3,500, located about 102 miles southeast of Boise.
