North Carolina man who impregnated biological daughter, planned to marry her, charged with incest: Police

A North Carolina man and his biological daughter are facing charges of incest after warrants revealed that they had a sexual relationship and were planning on getting married.

Katie Rose Pladl was born in 1998 to Steven Walter Pladl and her mother but was adopted by a family out of state.

When she turned 18, she utilized social media to reach out to her parents. After establishing contact with them, she relocated to their home west of Richmond, Virginia in 2016 and lived with them and their two other children, WTVR reported.

Steven Pladl and his wife separated in November 2016, and his wife moved out.

The wife told police that Steven Pladl would stay on the floor of Katie’s room in the month before she left.

Back in May, Steven wife read one of her kids’ journals that Katie was pregnant and Steven Pladl was the father.

Warrants indicate that Steven Pladl told his other children to refer to Katie as their step-mother.

Warrants also say the wife contacted Steven and asked him if he had gotten their biological daughter pregnant. Steven Pladl admitted that he was the father and that they were going to get married.

In May of last year. The Henrico County Child Advocacy Center questions the Pladl’s two other children, who said that they had been told Steven was the father of Katie’s child.

In November, Henrico County police issued arrest warrants for Katie and Steven Pladl.

They were found at a residence and were arrested on January 27th.

An infant boy was with them when police officers found them. The baby was born in September.

Both individuals are in custody at the Wake County Detention Center pending their extradition to Virginia.

They have both been charged with incest, adultery, and contributing to delinquency.

Both were booked on a $1 million bond.

Steven Pladl has since been released on bond, but Katie remains behind bars.
