A 14-year-old teen in Nebraska is accused of the murder of her own father. Authorities in Omaha revealed that they’ve arrested and booked the girl into the Douglas County Youth Center.

Police were dispatched to a residence on Saturday for a well-being check of a resident. Once authorities arrived, they discovered Montrel Williams, 48, dead., The Omaha World-Herald reported.

Neighbors said the father and daughter moved into the home three months ago. Demonte Walker lives across the street.

“I got here and seen this all tapped off from my tree to up there. They said they were investigating stuff and were knocking on the neighbor’s house,” Walker stated.

The yellow tape gave him the feeling that something wasn’t right.

“I realize the yellow tape out there and, ‘damn somebody got killed,’” Walker said in an interview with 6 News.

Demonte said it’s expected to hear gunshots in the area. “But to find a dead body in somebody’s house here is pretty unheard of,” he added.

On Sunday, investigators said the 14-year-old was booked into the Douglas County Youth Center on charges of criminal homicide.

“The 14-year-old murder suspect is related to our victim. We will speak with the county attorney, and we should have more information at that point,” Omaha Police Officer Michael Pecha said.

Pecha added that the investigation is still pending and will produce additional information, such as a motive, in the next few days.
