The mayor of a rural town in the southern state of Michoacan has been disclosed as an ally of one of Mexico’s most dangerous drug cartels. The politician was outed by a cartel operative who was recently tortured and executed by his rivals.

A group of cartel gunmen tortured and dismembered two rivals whose remains they dumped next to a narco-message threatening the mayor of the rural community of Sahuayo and his close allies.

The message warned the mayor and his allies to stop assisting Mexico’s  Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG).

The victims’ bodies were discovered in the city of Sahuayo, where members of the Nueva Familia Michoacana and their allies Los Viagras continue to fight a violent war for territorial control against the CJNG.

While one of the dismembered remains has not been identified, the other victim is a cartel member and a drug dealer with CJNG identified Federico Avalo Sanches.

The dealer is also known by the moniker “El Siri.”

In a series of photos and videos obtained by Breitbart Texas, the man tells his captors about his position in the cartel and the identities of his allies.

The interrogated cartel member claims to receive assistance from Sahuayo Mayor Rodrigo Sanchez Zepeda along with his allies Armando Tejeda and Rodrigo Tejeda.

“El Siri” alleges that Sanchez Zepada used his position a government official, to permit him to operate and carry out crimes on behalf of CJNG. The cartel gunmen then begin to cut open El Siri’s chest as the man screams for mercy.

The identities of the public official and his allies are also written on a poster board that was placed next to the dismembered bodies.

The posterboard also mentions a man named Marco Vinicio, who is reportedly looking to run for mayor in the next election.
