A couple in California who is accused in the sexual assault of their 5-year-old child may have carried out sexual acts on their dogs as well.

According to KTLA,  35-year-old Roy Ling and 32-year-old Sara Wilson were arrested last week, almost five years after authorities launched their investigation into reports that they sexually abused their son.

The boy first told law enforcement officials that he was sexually abused by his parents in 2013. He was transferred into the custody of child and family services, and a probe was initiated.

Ling and Wilson were purported “transients in the high desert” and were not arrested. Authorities also did not reveal further details about the alleged abuse.

Investigators said the search for the continued to March 2014, but they couldn’t be found.

The two were eventually apprehended in December 2017 in a Victorville riverbed. Detectives said they discovered details pointing to the possibility that the pair may have carried out sexual acts on their dogs.

The two were taken into custody and were charged with participating in lewd and lascivious acts with a child. Their bail was each set at $200,000.
