Mexican authorities raided a meth lab, securing a massive haul of crystal methamphetamine during an operation just 20 miles from the California border in Playas de Rosarito, Baja California last Thursday.

According to Weekly Zeta, Mexico’s military along with federal police conducted the raid on a home located in the Benito Juarez neighborhood of Playas de Rosarito.

The raid resulted in the seizure of 235 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine destined for the United States.

Law enforcement officials said the meth haul had an estimated worth of more than $6 million dollars.

In addition to the seizure, agents also arrested three alleged meth cooks during the raid.

Authorities identified the three suspects detained in the operation as José Manuel Lizárraga Félix, who officials say was in charge of monitoring and “cooking” the methamphetamine, along with Fernando Javier Trinidad Solís, the alleged logistics coordinator of the facility, and Onesimo Rodríguez Peraza, who was tasked with administering the chemical precursors for the production of methamphetamine,

Security forces immediately secured the area surrounding the home after the detainees admitted the residence was used as a methamphetamine laboratory and warned of the presence of dangerous chemical precursors.
