Authorities in Reno, Nevada apprehended a fugitive gang member wanted for violent crimes including murder in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Reno Police on Saturday announced the arrest of 22-year-old Cardell Waters who is wanted in connection with the murder of 18-year-old Otilio Martinez, who was shot over 50 times back in 2016.

Investigators said Martinez attended college and had no gang affiliation.

According to the East Bay Times, Waters is a documented member of the Swerve Team gang based in San Francisco’s Richmond District.

Officials say the gang has been linked to several homicides, over a dozen attempted murders and numerous violent home invasions.

In addition, California prosecutors last week also announced charges against one alleged adult gangbanger and three teen Swerve Team members, in connection with two armed home invasion robberies in the West Contra Costa area.

Waters is expected to be extradited back to the Bay Area. It wasn’t immediately clear if he has an attorney that could comment on his case.
