LAPD officer revives unresponsive Baby; police charge father with child abuse

A police officer in Los Angeles is being hailed as a hero after helping revive an unresponsive 3-week-old infant who was slammed on the ground by his father on Saturday.

NBC Los Angeles cited LAPD police officials who said the heroic cop identified as Officer Alex Frazier, initiated modified chest compressions for nine minutes, which helped the boy start breathing again.

Police officers responded to calls of a possible domestic incident and child abuse at an apartment complex in the Westlake District of L.A. on Saturday.

According to KTLA, the mother told responding police officers the boy’s father held the infant “like a football” as he assaulted her.

The mother  reportedly told authoities she pleaded with the father to hand her the child but he instead slammed the infant on the ground.

Frazier helped revive the unresponsive infan who stopped breathing and officers placed the unidentified father under arrest for child abuse charges.

Law enforcement officials said the mother suffered scratches from the altercation while the child sustained minor bruises.
