Rapper Juelz Santana flees Newark Airport after attempting to carry gun through security checkpoint

Juelz Santana fled Newark Airport after Transportation Security Administration agents busted the rapper attempting to sneak a firearm through a security checkpoint on Friday..

Port Authority officials said Santana, 36, whose real name is LaRon Louis James, bolted from Terminal C after TSA agents spotted the gun in a bag around 6 p.m.

Police sources said the rap artist, who is part of the hip-hop group The Diplomats, immediately took off running, leaving his bags behind and may have fled the airport in a cab.

Port Authority Police are now searching for Santana, NBC4 New York reports.

Carrying a weapon through a TSA security checkpoint is a chargeable offense, which could be followed by a $9,800 fine.

The Harlem-born rapper is best known is best known for his top-ten single “There It Go (The Whistle Song)” and for his feature on Cam’ron’s hit single “Hey Ma.

The performer and entrepreneur had a prior run-in with law enforcement stemming from a 2011 arrest after New Jersey police officers discovered marijuana, loaded handguns and, ammunition in his Bergenfield, N.J., recording studio.
